The importance of Gift Aid to the Diocese and our parishes

Gift Aid is a government scheme that lets charities claim tax relief on our donations you make to them. The Diocese is allowed to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every donation we get from an eligible UK taxpayer, which makes Gift Aid an increasingly important source of income for our parishes. So it’s really important that all eligible parishioners claim Gift Aid on their donations to the parish, as we can claim 25p for every £1 given – at no extra cost to them.

If you like to fill a Gift Aid form, please see below.

This year alone the Diocese has claimed back over £1 million from HM Revenue and Customs on behalf of our parishes.

Anyone wishing to join the Gift Aid Scheme must be a UK taxpayer. To join the scheme, please complete this Gift Aid Declaration form, which authorises the Diocese to reclaim tax on your donations. This online form replaces the paper forms held by parishes and covers all donations made by a donor to any parish within the Diocese.
