Fundraising
Support our Pastors, our Shepherds, our leaders in faith.
#ClosertoChristThe Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth is a charity that is heavily dependent on charitable giving as a source of recurrent income in order to support its charitable objectives set out in accordance with the diocesan ten year strategy. It is responsible for generating the funding for all of its ongoing costs from its own activities.
Our parishes rely on the generous regular giving from its parishioners. Parishioners give generously through direct debit and standing order, electronically through our parish online giving pages and through our onsite contactless systems. The government also tops up these donations by a further 20% if the donor chooses to gift aid their donation.
The Diocese and its parishes receive generous gifts from parishioners who include us in their wills. Sometimes donors leave a particular amount. Sometimes they gift a property or a percentage of their estate. Legacy gifts can be truly transformational to the mission of the diocese.
The Fundraising team support our parish and school communities to win grant awards from institutions, organisations and corporate bodies. These grants can be for an array of purposes but usually fall into two categories - Mission based outreach and Capital build projects.
