Today Canon David Hopgood and the Chapter of Canons celebrated the tenth anniversary of Bishop Philip Egan’s episcopal ordination. As the eighth Bishop of Portsmouth.
In his time as Bishop, he has had to contend with: a new Pope, the Covid pandemic, Churches told to lock their doors, the end of the Elizabethan period and the challenge of our new ten year mission.
A reception was held after the service, which was attended by many of the congregation, representing different areas and groups from within the Diocese.
We give thanks for his leadership and pray for his Ministry. Ad multos annos.
