On Saturday, 14 February, the Most Reverend Richard Moth was installed as the 12th Archbishop of Westminster at Westminster Cathedral.

The installation followed the reading of the Apostolic Letter from Pope Leo XIV, after which Archbishop Moth was formally seated in the cathedra, a sign of his pastoral authority. He was presented with the Westminster crozier as a symbol of his role as shepherd of the diocese.

In his homily, he called on Catholics to “fan into flame the gift of God”, encouraging a spirit of service, courage and renewed missionary commitment. The Mass was celebrated on the Feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, highlighting the Church’s enduring mission to proclaim the Gospel.

We pray for Archbishop Moth as he begins his ministry leading the Church in Westminster and serving the wider Church in England and Wales.
