A splendid Corpus Christi procession was held after our 10am mass on Sunday at Sacred Heart Hook. The Blessed Sacrament was carried by Fr John Chadwick who led us from the church into the gardens of Maryfield Care home next to the church where two altars had been arranged.
The procession was led by children, some who had recently made their First Holy Communion, who carried baskets of rose petals to be strewn along the way before the Blessed Sacrament. We had many parishioners who led the singing and proclaimed the readings at the altars, as well as four men who held aloft the canopy under which Fr John carried the monstrance that held the Blessed Sacrament. We finished back in the church with a final Benediction.
Jesus is always present in the world and this procession reminded us of this and demonstrated our faith in the Blessed Sacrament.
