Due to unprecedented demand, Sacred Heart Parish in Waterlooville have had to increase the number of clothes sales they do, to monthly. They have seen a huge rise in the number of people who are either really struggling, have become homeless or are even from Ukraine.
The scheme is run on a pay what you can basis. All funds raised are then used to supply food to those in need.
Feedback received from those who attended the recent sale includes:
“With having two growing boys it has helped us to get new items to get them through the winter. “
“Times are hard with the cost of living, and it has been so helpful.”
“All the helpers were so kind, friendly and helpful.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Thank You very much, it helps us with warm clothes for winter as we have come over from Ukraine.”
“Save stuff going to landfill and of course a bargain with the cost of food.”
With Christmas only a couple of months away, the team at Sacred Heart are now looking to hold a Nearly New Toy Sale in November and are looking for donations of new or nearly new toys. If you can help, please get in contact parishcentre@waterlooville-catholic.org.uk .
