Bishop Philip writes…

Today, Tuesday 5th May, is a National Day of Prayer for Survivors of Abuse. The theme for this year looks at the impact of domestic abuse, the pain and fear that it causes and how it prevents victim survivors from living the life Jesus came to bring. In the Diocese of Portsmouth, we seek to ensure our parishes and church communities are safe places for all those who worship. Please mark this day by offering prayers for those affected. There are some suggested prayers below.

Meanwhile, welcome to e-News Issue 532 (2026/16) for Tuesday 5th April 2026. There’s lots to catch up on this week in the articles below – and my thanks to all those who have sent in their news. Please note that there will not be an e-News next week: the next edition will be on Tuesday 19th May. May the Lord bless you with His love during these Fifth and Sixth Weeks of Easter.

With all good wishes and an assurance of my prayers,

In Corde Iesu

+Philip

Bishop of Portsmouth
