Confirmation season is Underway

The Confirmation season is now underway and over the next weeks, hundreds of young people from across the Diocese will coming to the Cathedral to receive the Sacrament. (The picture was taken at the start of the homily I gave last year and was a reference about your favourite team!). This year, in the homily, I intend to focus on mission and evangelisation and how the Holy Spirit sends us out to proclaim our faith in Christ and His Church. Administering this Sacrament at the Cathedral, the Mother Church of our Diocese, is significant. Many of the candidates and their families have never been to the Cathedral before, and so sending them out, they become apostles of Christ to bring the Good News to their home parishes, friends and families. Please pray for our young, especially those receiving this wonderful Sacrament at this time.
