Preparation for Marriage

Myself and Mat have been together for 6 years (in a couple of weeks). We met whilst I was at university in Gloucester, studying for my degree. We moved back to Hampshire over 2 years ago (where I am originally from). Mat proposed on our 5th anniversary with a surprise trip to France and at the top of the Eiffel Tower! We have chosen St Joseph (Havant) Church to be married in as it is where my parents were also Married over 30 years ago, and means a lot to us.

We’re really enjoying our marriage preparation course. It’s good to be part of a group in similar situations to us and to be able to relate to ‘everyday life’ as a couple. The course has encouraged us to open up more about our feelings and priorities what really matters in our lives – Each other.

Our ‘homework’ has encouraged us to spend at least one meal time a week sat at the dining table with no TV or background noise. Allowing us to spend quality time together. I am looking forward to completing the course and continuing our journey together.
