Today, we celebrate the International Day of Charity. The United Nations established the day to promote and encourage charity across the globe. It also commemorates the death anniversary of Mother Teresa – a Nobel Prize winner for her heroic acts of kindness, charity, and struggle against poverty. Today, we remember and ask your prayers for the charities we support in our Diocese, including Caritas, Bamenda and CAFOD.

On September 24th I will be joining with two friends and we will be walking 25.5 miles of the Test Way in Hampshire to raise funds to support our own Caritas Diocese of Portsmouth!  Donations will go to support some of the most vulnerable people who live in our communities across the diocese, including people struggling with the rising costs of living, poverty, homelessness, social isolation and refugees.

You can donate by visiting our JustGiving page.

80% of your donation will go to Caritas Portsmouth and 20% to the charities supported by the Romsey Rotary Club who run the event.

Thank you for your support – we are grateful for every donation. Please share in your parishes.
