Lourdes
Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure
Most UK diocese have a tradition of going on pilgrimage to Lourdes and Portsmouth is no exception. Our pilgrimage has various unique aspects, so whether you’ve been many times before or this is your first time, you’re guaranteed an incredible experience.
To get in touch, either send an email to lourdes@portsmouthdiocese.org.uk or you can call us on 07780 221686
There include Torchlight and Blessed Sacrament processions, International Mass, walking in the footsteps of St Bernadette, visit the Grotto, stations of the cross and responding to Our Lady’s call to bathe in the spring waters.
Furthermore, we take a trip into the mountains, taking in the Hautes-Pyrenees culture and for the brave, a mountain hike!
People of all ages travel to Lourdes to seek healing in the spring waters and spiritual renewal, and wouldn’t be able to participate in the pilgrimage if it wasn’t for teams of volunteers pushing wheelchairs, assisting them around town.
The pilgrimage is a special place to deepen your understanding of the principles of our faith, and a listen to inspirational testimony of the amazing things that God is doing in people’s lives through His Church.
This means that we can share the whole experience together especially meals, Divine Office in the morning and at night, catechesis and social time.
You can indicate your room preferences when you book, including who you would like to share with, and rooms are allocated according to age and gender. (Single room supplement applies). All meals are included.
