Portsmouth Diocese e-News Issue 473

A very happy and holy New Year to you all – from a chilly Portsmouth! Let us ask the Lord to bless us during the Jubilee Year ahead with many blessings and graces. One of my key prayer-intentions this year is for vocations to all states of life and ministry within the Church but especially to the sacred priesthood. Another is for peace and an end to violence in our fragile world, especially in Ukraine and in the Middle East. I know you will have many intentions too of your own for the year ahead. Welcome to this e-News for Tuesday 7th January 2025. The Church is still in Christmastide but after next Sunday, the Feast of the Lord’s Baptism, we enter into Ordinary Time. There are some thoughts about this below. Let’s pray for all those returning to work after the Christmas break, and especially for the teachers and children of our 70 Catholic schools. Have a blessed week ahead.
