Bishop Philip writes…

As we enter the summer month of July and our schools approach the end of term, I want to say how proud I am of the Catholic schools of our Diocese and on behalf of us all to express our gratitude to all our heads, our teachers, school staff, pupils and governors for all they do. Recently, we published a new Vision-Statement for schools in the light of our diocesan ten-year mission-plan You Will be My Witnesses. Part of that plan is the academisation of our schools and this process is now beginning to gather pace. You can read the Vision-Statement below, and also a few thoughts of my own about academisation.

Meanwhile, welcome to e-News Issue 539 (2026/23) for Tuesday 30th June 2026. There will be no e-News next week because of holidays. I will be in Lourdes with the diocesan pilgrimage: please pray for us all and for a safe journey. As we reach the end of this month dedicated to the Sacred Heart, may the Lord bless you with His love and give you His peace during these summer days.

With all good wishes and an assurance of my prayers,

In Corde Iesu

+Philip
