Bishop Philip writes…
I’m sending you this e-News from Turin where we have begun our six-day diocesan pilgrimage following in the footsteps of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Carlo Acutis. We have begun here up in the north of Italy and already visited St. Pier Giorgio’s tomb in the Cathedral and the family villa up in Pollone, 40 miles north of the city. It’s hot and humid, but we’re surviving! On Thursday, we transfer by bus to Assisi for three days there at the shrine of St. Carlo and also, of course, at the shrine of St. Francis. I am keeping you all very much in my prayers, especially the young.
Meanwhile, welcome to this e-News Edition 541 (2026/25) for Tuesday 21st July 2026. I hope you are enjoying these high summer days. Please pray for us all and for a safe journey. May the Lord bless you with His love and give you His peace.
With all good wishes and an assurance of my prayers,
In Corde Iesu
+Philip
Bishop of Portsmouth
