Addition to the Good Friday Liturgy 2022

Because of the grave situation in Ukraine, the Congregation for Divine Worship has given permission to Bishops to add an additional intention to the Good Friday Solemn Intercessions. I have decided to do this. Here is the text to be used after the Tenth Intercession. The invitation to prayer is: Let us pray for the people of Ukraine, afflicted by terror and violence and driven from their homes into exile; let us pray also for those who fight to free their homeland, that the merciful and powerful Lord will come to their aid. Here is the Collect: God of peace and mercy, who take pity on the poor and lowly and put down their oppressors, grant, we pray, deliverance to all victims of war and violence, that as you change the heart of the aggressor, so your peace will prevail. Through Christ our Lord. R. Amen.
