Actual Salary: £9,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Part Time, 4 hours per week including Sundays, as well as Christmas, Holy Week, Easter ad Holy Days.
Location: Mainly based at St Mary’s, 55 High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 2RE. Some travel may be required to other Churches within the Catholic Wight Parish
Are you an experienced Organist and Choir Director, looking for a role where your skills can make a real difference?
St Marys, Ryde, Catholic Wight Parish is seeking an Organist and Choir Director to progress the development of, and to increase the awareness of music within local church/pastoral area and to provide music for liturgies.
The postholder is expected to foster a professional, welcoming, and efficient parish environment for parishioners, volunteers, and visitors.

Overall job purpose:
- To be the Organist at St Mary’s including Mass 11am Sunday’s, as well as Christmas, Holy Week, Easter and Holy Days.
- To develop the musical life of St Mary’s, in a way compatible with an inclusive liturgical style that corresponds to the spirit of liturgical action, and which should help foster the participation of the faithful.
- To train, manage, and recruit to church choir in support of its musical commitments.
- Where necessary, to support the liturgical music development of other churches in the pastoral area.
